Absolutely. The technology behind our wallet is with Origin Fintech, a leading fintech enablement partner. Our wallets are held within this space and our KYC process is passed through the Nedbank.
tipped makes use of the Masterpass rails and so in saying this, you can use any of the following online banking apps to scan and send a tip. Alternatively, you can use you phone’s camera, Zapper or Snapscan.

Alternatively, you could open your own tipped wallet and set aside a tipping allowance per month. You will then be able to tip directly from tipped wallet to tipped wallet.

Simply point your phone's built-in camera at the recipient's QR code on their lanyard.
This will automatically access the QR reader within your chosen banking app.

Sign-Up Process: Walk them through each step, ensuring that their information is correctly entered and submitted.

In some cases, car guards do pay bay fees for their chosen lines. These fees are set by the employer, not by Tipped or Centre Management.
The rotation of bays is typically managed to keep things fair
More prominent or high-traffic lines may come with a higher fee
These agreements are strictly between the employer and the car guard
Tipped is not involved in these arrangements.
Our role is simply to provide a platform that helps car guards earn more and take home a greater salary for their work.

Centre Management do not pay the car guards a salary, nor do they pay the associations that the car guards belong to. The car guards earn their entire salary from tips generated from the public.
Tipping, in any form, is not mandatory. It fills a part of a social responsibility, backing the need to encourage employment. It is done from the goodness of our hearts for services that we feel are deserving.
To delete your profile on tipped, open the tipped app on your device.
Look for the three dots icon located at the bottom right corner of the screen and tap on it. From the menu that appears, select 'My Profile'.
Scroll down to the bottom of the profile page where you'll find the option to 'Delete Account'. Tap on this option to proceed with deleting your profile from tipped.
Confirm any prompts that may appear to complete the deletion process.

To receive an OTP:
Start the registration process on the Tipped app
Enter your phone number when prompted
An OTP will be sent via SMS to verify your number and complete your registration
Make sure your phone has network coverage and can receive SMS messages.

How do I update the Tipped app?
To update the app:
Open the Google Play Store
Search for “Tipped”
Tap Update if an update is available
After updating, open the app and try registering or logging in again.

To do this:
Log in to your account
Go to the Profile or Settings section
Select the option to update your information and follow the prompts

Setup will take about 5-10 mins and your wallet will be available immediately after Sign Up has been completed.
If your ID document is very old or your appearance has changed significantly, the system might struggle to match your selfie.
If your selfie keeps failing after a few tries, please contact Tipped Support for manual verification or further assistance.

The Tipped app requires a stable internet connection to function. If you're having trouble:

While technically possible if the number isn't already linked to a Wallet, we strongly advise against it as it makes you vulnerable to theft and potential security issues.
To ensure a secure and seamless registration process, we require certain permissions: Microphone Access: Needed for proof-of-life verification. Without this permission, registration cannot be completed.
Camera Access: Also required for proof-of-life verification. Registration cannot proceed without this permission.
The Digital Wallet uses several layers of security to protect your money:
Encryption: Your financial information is scrambled and unreadable by anyone who shouldn't see it.
Tokenization: When you make a payment, a unique code is used instead of your actual card number. This way, even if someone intercepts the code, they can't use it.
PIN: You need a PIN to access your wallet and make payments.
The transfer is instant and will be accessible immediately.
You can cash in at a till point with your QR Code or Barcode.
You can also transfer money from your bank account to your wallet.

You can make payments and receive payments with your tipped Wallet.
These range from making and receiving EFTS, payments at the till, payments through your Wallet in the App, and payments through bank Accounts.

Please note: Money transfers work like any normal bank transfer, which can take up to 2 business days to reflect. If your tipped wallet balance has updated, the money will clear in your account within the next 48 hours.

Yes. The tipped App allows you to make multiple transactions. Each transaction has its own costs. See the ‘Fees’ section on the screen when making or taking payments.

If you've forgotten your PIN, follow these steps:
Enter your phone number.
Receive an OTP (One-Time PIN).
Enter the OTP.
Set a new PIN (make sure it's the same PIN in both fields).
Attempt to log in with the new PIN.

However, contact the tipped support team immediately to let them know you lost your phone.
They can help you disable access to your wallet on the lost device and set it up on your new phone.
