The Quiet Power of Remembering Why

Count happy memories instead of sheep!

Leading a start-up means I don’t always sleep well. My mind runs through decisions, to-do lists, and things I wish I’d handled differently.

Lately, I’ve started doing something simple that really helps: I think back to the good moments.

Not the big wins, just the ones that meant something. A conversation with a tippee that reminded me why we started. A conversation with someone in management who resonates with our values. The moment we first saw the tipped logo go live.

I’ve learned that remembering these moments changes how I feel. It eases the pressure. It reminds me we’re building something that matters. And science backs this up: nostalgia can reduce stress, lower anxiety, and boost happiness.

Keats once called them “moments big as years.” That feels true. These memories keep giving, long after they’ve passed.

If you're carrying a lot right now, I hope you take a minute to revisit your own. They're worth holding onto.
